Penny and John's Holiday
Death Valley was comparatively cool when we visited, at between 95 to 100 degrees in the shade. Not a place to break down in the car!
The sand dunes seemed to appear out of nowhere. A bit of a trip down a dirt track to get to them.
Mount Whitney looked distant but massive, as did all the surrounding mountain chain.
