We stopped to view a petrified Redwood tree.
A view in the north east sector of Yellowstone.
The Tower Falls were impressive, but better sights were to be seen later in the day.
The Yellowstone Falls are massive and the best we have seen in the South West.
The pathway to the falls viewpoint was steep and arduous on the return journey, but well worth the effort. Through the rainbow you can see the river and canyon winding away into the distance.
The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone has many splendid viewpoints.

More boiling mud and sulphur fumes
Another hot spring, called Dragon's Mouth.
Back at Yellowstone Lake, the water was capped with white horses due to the strong wind on the lake.
We saw more herds of bison alongside the road.
