From Interstate 90 we could see Devils Tower in the distance.
The Big Horn Mountains Scenic Byway gave extended views of the snow-capped mountains.
Shell Falls
The Buffalo Bill Historical Center houses five impressive museums. A Museum of Natural History, the Plains Indian Museum, the Buffalo Bill Museum, the Whitney Gallery of Western Art and the Cody Firearms Museum. We spend as much time as we could in all of them, with the exception of the Firearms Museum, which had over 5,000 firearms, but one gun in the same as another to us!!
Lots of exhibits and things to see in the Natural History Museum, which had levels of alpine, mountain meadow, forest and plains, covering Wyoming and Yellowstone. Audio visual films and even smells of fire and forest made the exhibits meaningful and interesting.
The exhibits were lifelike and varied and overall we could have spent twice the amount of time viewing it all. If you visit, try to allocate at least a whole half day.
